Jaguar has revealed its XFR high-performance sedan, just days before the Detroit Auto Show. Power for the XFR is provided by a 5.0L supercharged V8, rated at 510 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque — rivaling offerings from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. That’s enough grunt to get the Cat from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

All-new AJ-V8 Gen III 5.0-litre direct-injection engines bring significant improvements in power and torque and they do so without compromising fuel economy and emissions. In both respects, every model in the new XK range, in spite of such large performance and flexibility gains across the board, is comparable to their predecessors.

The impressive fuel economy for such powerful cars is attributable to the combination of the XK range’s lowest-in-class weight and the all-new AJ-V8 Gen III engines. As well as the intrinsic advantages of the engines’ light weight, these advanced all-aluminium four-cam power units have a number of features that deliver power with very high efficiency, including spray-guided direct injection (SGDI), which improves performance and economy, and dual independent variable cam timing (DIVCT), which benefits performance and economy, while also reducing emissions.

The simplified and logical model range for the new XK comprises three clear choices – XK, XK Portfolio and supercharged Jaguar XKR. Each has its own specific choices of trim, colour and fine detail, but every one has the same underlying sporting character and clear emphasis on efficient performance, luxury and craftsmanship. Beyond that, the XK vehicle personalisation programme also offers an extensive range of accessories that allow the customer to add further bespoke touches, both inside and out.

The new front look is given a sporty touch by two spoiler lips installed at the side under the fog lights, but is dominated by the LED daytime running lights shining brightly in the air inlets. These lights bracket the newly designed central stainless steel grille, which is made of the same high-grade material as the current Arden radiator grille. The finishing touches to the new look are provided by the well-known, TÜV-tested Arden Jaguar Leaper.

When the Jaguar makes the impressive appearance seen in the rear view mirror disappear by powering past, there is still the view of the powerful rear-end to enjoy. Here, the new Arden diffuser guarantees increased downforce without losing the elegant design. The additional grip generated this way contributes to more sporty and safer driving behaviour.

The classic appearance of the XJ 358 is consolidated by the “Zelem One” rim presented in the last issue of “Arden InSide”, and underlined by the rear muffler that fits exactly into the diffuser.

The car offers a host of additional extras beyond the XK’s already impressive specification at no extra cost. In true Jaguar tradition, every XK-S will be a highly desirable car with an impressively accessible price tag.

The Jaguar XK-S customer will benefit from dramatic 20-inch Senta alloy wheels, luxury sports interior, a sporty brushed aluminum gear knob and bright finish pedals plus distinctive body enhancements: new front and rear valence panels, chrome-finished side vents and bright finish upper and lower front mesh grilles, special tailpipe finishers and appliqués on both sides of the car.

In the UK, retail pricing of the XF range starts at £32,900 for the 3.0-litre petrol. The 3.0-litre diesel model is available from £33,900 while the 3.0-litre Diesel S starts at £36,900.

Building on the success of the new Jaguar XK and Jaguar XF models, the introduction of the all-new Jaguar XJ is a landmark for the revitalised Jaguar brand. Clearly positioned as the company’s four-door flagship, it extends the appeal of the Jaguar XJ to a new generation of customers.

Standard- and long-wheelbase models are available from launch. The long-wheelbase offers an even more sumptuous and refined environment for rear-seat passengers with an additional 125mm of legroom. Whichever the wheelbase, the Jaguar XJ’s 520-litre boot can swallow two large suitcases side-by-side.
To complement the all-new cabin design is a level of choice in colours, veneers and leathers not seen before in a Jaguar. Three specification levels – Luxury, Premium Luxury and Portfolio – allow the customer to tailor the car to suit their tastes. Beyond this are the Supercharged and the top-of-the-range Supersport, the latter providing the ultimate expression of performance and luxury, with a specification that includes a leather roof-lining, semi-aniline leather seats and veneers with laser inlays.
All of Jaguar’s acclaimed new ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the Jaguar XJ. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel, 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 and 5.0-litre supercharged V8 have already proved their breadth of ability, and they are joined by a 470 horsepower version of the supercharged engine. Fuel economy and emissions are also outstanding, with the diesel-powered XJ returning combined economy figures of 40.1mpg and CO2 emissions of 184g/km.

The face of the Jaguar is further upgraded with daytime running lights. Using precise-fit design elements these lights are beautifully integrated into the stylized air vents on both sides of the bumper. The STARTECH carbon-fiber rear molding serves as the perfect backdrop for the two tailpipes of the exhaust system and gives the rear of the Jaguar even more character.

The STARTECH Jaguar XK and XKR sits on 21 inch rims and is equipped with sport springs that lower the ride height by 40 mm.
